An "Act Of Pure Evil"

Recently the American President referred to ISIS's latest beheading, their 5th beheading as an "Act of pure evil ... " and he is right for this horrific act is not only tragic, but especially so for this man's family.

However, it is but the latest act in an Iraq War the U.S. initiated in 2003, that has cost hundreds of thousands of Iraqi men, women and children their lives. It has also cost thousands of U.S. and allied soldiers their lives. Now the death toll also mounts for Syrian men, women and children as the war spreads.

They are all acts of "pure evil" and the loss of each life is equally as tragic.

This is what war brings, death and destruction and fear and deprivation on a major scale. And war spawns more people who in their bitterness readily kill.

In the middle of all this madness, there are voices crying out for it to stop. These are the voices of the many women who have lost husbands, children and other family members. We must hear their cries and in compassion, stop the violence and negotiate a settlement.
