Why Is There No Peace In Iraq And Afghanistan?

Why is there no peace in Iraq and Afghanistan? The U.S. Military has done everything it can to kill, maim or torture every "terrorist," while ironically never seeing itself as a terrorist.

But surely, all of this bloodshed should lead to peace.

Yet the U.S., with by far the world's strongest military, has unleashed its bombs, drones, soldiers and weaponry on those poor countries yet somehow, peace and brotherhood does not permeate those two nations.

The U.S. has made no attempt to listen to the people of Iraq and Afghanistan, or to get to know them or understand their cultures, yet finds itself in endless war in both places. Go figure?

Instead, the U.S. tells them how they will govern themselves and keeps in power governments of its own selection, at an enormous cost in lives and in resources.

It is this corrosive thinking combined with apathy from the American people that has led America to where it is today, a nation so fearful that it now spies on everyone everywhere and for the first time ever, is in endless, disastrous wars.

It is a policy of madness and eventual self-annihilation.

As a man of conscience and compassion, my heart aches, and I pray not only for America but for brotherhood, in place of murder, self-confidence in place of hopelessness, and for reassurance to all of my brethren in place of callousness and indifference to their suffering.
